Are you a Graduate Student or Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA)? Do you want to level up your online teaching skills and take advantage of the opportunities digital education presents? Look no further! Join us for a six-week workshop that will prepare you to tackle the challenges and embrace the possibilities of online teaching. Your guide on this exciting journey will be the knowledgeable and experienced Kushal Jha. This workshop will equip you with the skills and knowledge necessary to create a dynamic and engaging online learning experience for your students. Plus, it is a great way to enhance your portfolio! You will be part of a supportive and collaborative cohort, working both independently and as a team to explore:
· Online teaching pedagogy and best practices
· Strategies to create engaging online learning environments
· Instructional approaches to designing effective online course content
· Methods to utilize technology for online instruction
· Skills to engage in effective online facilitation and communication
There is no required text for this workshop. Course materials will consist of online lecture videos and journal articles you can access from the OSU library.
Even though the entire course is self-paced and mostly asynchronous, we will have two virtual meetings.
Participants can expect to invest 3 to 5 hours per week in the readings, discussions, and assignments required for the successful completion of this course.
