The Dissertation Writing Workshop is a week-long session that focuses on building your argument/case in your dissertation. You'll have plenty of time to write, with access to facilitators from the Writing Center and librarians providing insight on topics like effective literature searches and intellectual property considerations. You'll also become part of a writing accountability group.

The writing accountability groups will continue to meet biweekly eight times throughout the semester to facilitate progress on students' dissertations.

Participants are required to attend all five of the all-day workshop sessions and all of the accountability sessions to be eligible for a $500 participation award. Participants failing to attend all of the all-day workshop and all of the accountability sessions will be charged a $100 non-participation fee to their bursar account.

Students who apply for the workshop require their advisor’s confirmation that they are ready to initiate writing of their dissertation. Students should have data in hand and be ready to write.

Accommodations are available on a limited basis for students residing 50 miles or more from campus. Priority will be given to those students commuting the furthest distance on a first-come first-serve basis. Please contact Dr. Carol Powers at gradcareersuccess@okstate.edu as soon as possible to check on availability of space.

This session is intended for doctoral students expecting to graduate in Spring or Summer 2020.
